...Rather than thanking his lucky stars, Kenny Jackett laments a lack of cutting edge at the other end, saying, "We did have some chances though, like when the Yeovil keeper made a save from Alexander's volley and we hit the woodwork.“However, the chances were too far and few between and we need to be able to finish the ones we do create. Yeovil grew in confidence due to us not scoring although we finished strongly at the end.”
28th September The FA charges are even worse than expected with Millwall being hit on three counts - virtually unprecedented for an away team. They are. Failure to ensure their supporters didn't throw missiles, harmful or dangerous objects onto the pitch. west ham receive the same, with an additional charge of failing to prevent their supporters from entering the field of play. A club statement rightfully vowed to defend the charges: "Millwall Football Club are shocked and disappointed that charges have been proffered against us in respect of events that took place at West Ham United on 25 August 2009. "We maintain that we did everything in our power with regard to our ticketing arrangements for this game. “Furthermore we expressed our concerns in advance about ticket allocations and arrangements in general. "It was widely acknowledged that none of our supporters came on to the pitch, and indeed the behaviour and forbearance of our fans brought praise from media observers on the night. "Our question for the Football Association is what can Millwall Football Club do to control individuals' actions once inside our opponents' stadium. "We have, and we continue to assist the authorities in their investigations into the events of that evening."
26th September Leyton Orient 1 Millwall 0 Substitute Andros Townsend ends Leyton Orient’s winless streak with the only goal in a drab London derby. Morison comes closest with a header but the Lions were punished for a lack of ideas going forward. Off the pitch there is no trouble to speak of.
25th September The decision that the FA are to charge Millwall for the trouble at west ham game is leaked but not announced officially over totally unfounded fears that it would somehow spark trouble at Leyton Orient the following day...
...Orient stadium manager Chris Bakers says, “We've met with Millwall and the police to discuss it all. Every year we hear about how West Ham fans are going to come and cause trouble. “Obviously with the recent tension we are being more vigilant and there will be a hefty police presence"...
...Kenny Jackett rules out another attempt to bring back Matt Lawrence to the Den, despite Neil wArnock palcing him on the crystal palace transfer list. He says, "We have made approaches at different times for Matt Lawrence when we've been looking for central defenders, but hopefully we are through our injury crisis now. “We’ve taken on Darren Ward and are hopeful the likes of Tony Craig and Paul Robinson are back fit soon as well."
22nd September Physio Bobby Bacic reveals the extent of Pat O’Connor’s recovery from a cruciate knee ligament operation, “All the injured players are doing daily swimming pool sessions and the lads would esepcially like to congratulate Pat on being awarded his 10 metre badge this week.”
19th September Millwall 3 Huddersfield 1 Harris is the star man as he helps secure a much-needed win with an assist and a goal in the first 14 minutes. Steve Morison seals the result after the break with his first goal for Millwall prior to Jordan Rhodes’ consolation for the visitors.
17th September Andy Ambler plays down suggestions that Zak Whitbread and Darren Ward will swap clubs in the January transfer window. Southwark News argues that ‘involving Ward in any such move would reduce the impact of Whitbread's 50 per cent sell-on clause, as Whitbread's value is falling by the day and Jackett would have a ready-made replacement straightaway’. Ambler says, “I've spoken to Mick McCarthy a lot lately, but only about the signings of Darren Ward and George Friend. But any move for Zak Whitbread is not something we've discussed at all."
15th September George Friend is put out of his misery and returns to Wolves following a month-long loan spell at The Den.
14th September Watford midfielder Gavin Mahon turns down Millwall. He says, “No disrespect to Millwall or any team in League One but I am hoping I can still do something here. "I heard from my agent that Millwall had been in touch. I know a lot of people hold Kenny Jackett in high regard so it was nice to hear he was interested."
12th September Gillingham 2 Millwall 0 Millwall are all at sea in the first half and Gillingham score two goals that deservedly clinch the victory. Ex-Lion Curtis Weston scores the second, while Neil Harris limps off with a recurrence of his calf injury...
...James Henry makes his debut but pulls a hamstring and needs to come off - meaning Millwall end the game with 10 men as all the subs had been used.
11th September Darren Ward signs from Wolves on a 93-day loan and goes straight into the squad to face Gillingham.
10th September A deal to take Wolves defender Darren Ward back to Millwall is ruled out as Kenny Jackett says, "There are differences between the clubs. We have made the inquiry and now we have to turn our attention elsewhere"...
...Andy Ambler adds, “I think there is something between the player and the player’s agent to come up with a deal. We made an offer that has not been accepted."
8th September The Daily Mail believes Plymouth defender Kristian Timar could be in line for a loan move to Millwall...
...Danny Spiller joins Dagenham & Redbridge. 9th September James Henry re-joins Millwall on loan until December 29. The 20-year-old can be recalled by Reading after 28 days, but can stay beyond the 93 days permitted for emergency loans as his signing is a ‘youth loan’ - a new scheme introduced by the Football League this season for young players...
...Jackett says, ““It wasn’t discussed as to whether they would sell him because this loan probably suits all parties at the moment.”

Jeff Hughes opens the scoring with a spot kick following Andy Frampton's rash challenge on the midfielder, and the midfielder brushed himself down before slotting home from 12 yards. and Chris Lines added a stunning second from 25 yards to seal the win...
...Gary Alexander is taken off injured, allowing youngster John Marquis to make a promising debut. Jackett says, “Gary has been nursing his heel for a game or two now and it took a bang in the first half,” he said. “We gave him some painkillers at half-time, but he couldn’t carry on. “We now have eleven players out - most of them would be in my thoughts for the first time - and they don’t look like clearing for at least a fortnight. “There’s no doubt we need bodies and if they are outside of the club I will go and get them. I will be working hard and doing my best to make that happen.”
3rd September David Tuttle issues a familiar battle cry after being appointed manager of Southern League Division One basement boys Bracknell Town, “There are players interested in coming to the club, but what we need at the moment is a few more supporters coming in as with the more people there are in the ground, it gets the players going more"...

...Jackett says he would like Kevin Friend to stay longer, “We may well look at it because a lot of the players we have injured may not necessarily be back in action too quickly, so loans are something I’m definitely going to look at. “We’ve been pleased with George and he has shown good promise so far. “His loan ends next week and although there has been no contact with Wolves yet, there will be.”
2nd September Steve Claridge enters the debate on the west ham trouble, “As far as the clubs are concerned, there might have been an under-estimation from them and the police but that is all they are guilty of, nothing more than that. “If you start docking clubs points after incidents like this then, potentially, you could get people thinking they are having an effect and deliberately trying to get a certain team in trouble if all kicks off. It's just not feasible. “I've been at Millwall and I know what work they do in the community. They can't do anymore and west ham are the same, what else can you ask these clubs to do? “I went to the last west ham-Millwall game in April 2005 and there were four arrests. It went off quiet as you like. “Obviously people were more intent on causing trouble this time. But they kept getting on the pitch so there clearly weren't enough police in the ground, and I think that was the biggest problem - those sort of people are not going to be stopped by stewards.”

Schofield says, “There was interest from midfield in January but nothing materialised. I like to come inside, get involved and keep it tight defensively, but I’ve got a half decent goalscoring record - I’ve scored nearly 60 from midfield areas and hope for more of the same”...
